Back to School Information

We're so excited to welcome you back!

Below, you'll find dates, school supply lists, and everything else you need to have a successful start to the school year.

We have also compiled information about all our back-to-school events in one convenient handout, which you can access here as a Google Doc or here as a PDF. 

​

First Day of School

  • 1st-8th Grade: Tuesday, August 19th, 2025

  • Kindergarten: Thursday, August 21st, 2025

  • Preschool: Tuesday, August 26th, 2025

New-to-Classroom Visits

Before the start of the school year, families entering a new classroom are invited to visit to familiarize themselves with their new guides and environment.

Children's House

Families new to Children’s House may watch for an email invitation to sign up for a 20-minute one-on-one visit between the child and their guide on Monday 8/18 or Wednesday 8/20. These meetings are strongly recommended to prepare the students for success.

Lower & Upper Elementary

  • Monday, August 18th from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

  • This is a casual open house. Families who are entering a new classroom are welcome to drop by anytime in that time frame for a quick visit.

​

Note that this event is a casual meet-and-greet; it is not a venue for conferencing. Please respect the guides’ time, and allow them to circulate to meet all families.

​

Middle School

Middle School welcomes new and returning students with a thorough orientation to the new level during the first few days of school and will not hold classroom visiting.

Back-to-School Meetings

Our back-to-school meetings are primarily designed for families who are new to a level. Families returning to a level are still welcome to attend.

​

These meetings are for adults only, with the exception of Middle School.  

​

We will communicate about specific locations closer to the meeting dates. Please read the school newsletter for details.

​

New-to-School & Children's House (PK-K) Meeting

  • Friday, August 15th, 3:00-4:00 p.m.

  • This meeting will take place over Zoom. We will email a link.

  • The meeting will be recorded for families who cannot attend.

​

Elementary (1st-6th Year) Meetings

  • Both meetings will on Wednesday, September 3rd, 5:00-6:00 p.m.

  • In-person at SVCMS

​

Middle School (7th-8th Year) Meeting

  • Wednesday, August 27th, 4:00-5:00 p.m.

  • In-person at SVCMS

  • Both parents/guardians and students are invited to attend.

Save the Date for Fun Community Events

SVCMS Summer Pool Party

  • Monday, August 18th, 1:00-5:00 p.m.

  • Sunset Pool on Longs Peak Ave.

  • Come connect with other families and enjoy the last day of summer!

Maria Montessori's Birthday Party & Back-to-School Picnic
  • Thursday, August 28th, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
