Extracurricular Activities

St. Vrain Community Montessori School offers an array of extracurricular programs to meet the needs of our students and their families.

100 Mile Club

All students and their families are invited to participate in the 100 Mile Club, a well-established national program that challenges students to set a goal of running or walking 100 miles over the course of the school year.

We are able to implement this program due to the Physical Activity Grant that the Colorado Health Foundation awarded to St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD) and all 31 elementary/K-8 schools in the district in 2014.

All 100 Mile Club participants at SVCMS pay a $20 registration fee and are invited to join in all 100 Mile Club events throughout the year, including opportunities to run or walk together after school.

The $20 registration fee covers the cost of milestone “markers,” including an ID card, T-shirt, golden pencil, wrist band, and final certificate, tracking students’ efforts throughout the year.

If students reach their goal of 100 miles, they receive a gold medal at the Year-End Medal Ceremony, during which every participant celebrates their total miles run.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to get more physical activity outside of school hours in a safe, community-oriented environment and for the school to positively influence students’ appreciation of how movement impacts physical, emotional, and social health.

  • Integral Steps: Music enrichment driven by the Dalcroze philosophy of music education, which complements Montessori and emphasizes integration of movement and cognition. Learn more about our offerings here.

  • Python Club: An opportunity to learn to code with a Montessori lens.
